Introduction

Statement of the Purpose and Goal of the Services

In reading this, you must already know: Death is no stranger and needs no introductions.

The overriding problem observed and studied, is that an alarming number of widows, widowers, and people of all ages, are not reaching a state of closure. Unfortunately, the impact of the problem, in which the surviving spouses and grievers alike, have a difficult time moving from grief to a place of closure, causing them to remain in a state of grief without the ability to move on with their lives.

Biblical Counseling Perspective

Whether the participant is a Christian or nonbeliever, theGriefrelief counseling is based on the Bible and addresses perspectives that relate to the participant’s way of thinking, as it reflects one’s lifestyle during a time of pain and suffering.

The biblical mentality often copes with the basic problems of life as any other mode of thinking does. Additionally, it is often assumed that reading Scripture while grieving should have an impact on the griever’s way of thinking.

If approached sensitively, this is true.

The Grief Relief Program and Training is conducted in order to develop and implement a practical counseling program based a psychological counseling theory that promotes personal healing.

Evaluation of the participants are analyzed from a biblical and personal perspective. The viewpoints of various academic scholars, who are considered subject matter experts, provides an additional contribution. These viewpoints are coupled with an explanation of governing principles, beliefs, and practices of theologians and biblical scholars, as it pertains to long-term grief during the early church era.

The program and training begin and ends with evidence from a historical, biblical standpoint, researched data, and implementation of created techniques, methods, and procedures that are proven to be beneficial in impacting the stated problem or situation of every kind. The information provided participates, is carefully researched and have been captured from the findings of Bible scholars and published authors who have shown devotion of time and attention to acquiring knowledge on the subject matter, solely for the successful benefit of the services.

Biography of Dr. Pamela E. L. Goodman

Dr. Pamela Goodman received the Doctor of Ministry Degree, with her Dissertation Project focusing on “An Investigation into Long-term Grief After the Death of a Spouse,” in which she developed an ongoing Grief Support Group ministry at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Atlanta Georgia.

Dr. Pamela Goodman is the Senior Bible-based Executive Counselor of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Lawrenceville, Georgia. Under her tutelage, she encouraged and taught members and non-members, in a state of need that led to a substantial improvement of well-being.

Dr. Goodman has accepted invitations, as keynote speaker, both national and worldwide, as subject matter expert, for those who grieve, after the death of a loved-one. She is also the author of a publication entitled, “theGriefrelief: An Effective Approach to Inner-Peace of Mind, Soul, and Spirit.” Death is a “Direct Entrance Assured To Heaven,” and a definite road one must travel.

Dr. Goodman has established, and is designer of the implementation of the first Counseling Ministry at churches in the state of Georgia. She also developed and redesigned the Evangelistic Ministry. Under her leadership, the ministry has reached many, in the communities of Atlanta, Lawrenceville, and surrounding areas.

Dr. Goodman believes the church should be able to provide sound doctrine, enriched spiritual guidance, and truth, for everyday living; “Without proper Counsel the people will fall…” (Proverbs 11:14).

Dr. Goodman retired from the United States Army. She received such awards as the Commendation Medal, Medal of Honor, Achievement Medal, Army Service Ribbon, and Defense Distinguished Service Medal. Dr. Goodman earned many other awards and accolades for an outstanding 28 years of service for her integrity, leadership, commitment, and dedication.
